Calligraphy of the character ‘sweep’ (掃)
Inspired by the long-standing practice throughout many cultures of ‘sweeping in’ the new year or ‘sweeping out’ bad energy, by temple monks who sweep as a practice, and by the movie Perfect Days, whose protagonist wakes every morning to the sound of a neighbor’s sweeping the lane.
Original hand-carved stamp in red ink to the left of the character reads ‘enbi’ (beauty of the flame).
Printed in-house by Spicer Digital on off-white watercolor paper.
Card is 4” x 6”
Flat card comes with white envelope 4.75” x 6.5” in a plastic sleeve.
Small text on the back reads:
enbi studio “sweep”
